Transport for London (TfL) are responsible for the day-to-day operation of London’s public transport network and manage London’s main roads. They are committed to achieving the Mayor’s goal of making London carbon neutral by 2030 and supporting a green recovery to become a world-leading smart city. TfL offers a diverse range of degree apprenticeship opportunities including Civil Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Building Surveying, Telecommunications Engineering, General Managament, Quantity Surveying and Sustainability. Each programme provides comprehensive training and development opportunities to help build a successful career. Individuals will gain hands-on experience, work on impactful projects, and contribute to the smooth functioning of London’s transport network. Degree apprenticeship programmes at TfL run for between 4 and 6 years and offer structured placement rotations which vary from 3 to 6 months, giving apprentices the opportunity to work on several projects, making a real impact on London. Technical and professional development is supported through a wide range of on-the-job practical experiences including a combination of classroom-led and online training courses, mentoring and structured networking opportunities with scheme alumni. One-to-one support is provided through a placement manager, responsible for day-to-day management and support; a scheme sponsor, a senior manager who acts as a technical and professional adviser; and a development adviser, who will support professional development through career coaching and career progression at TfL.
